How We Can Help
We provide free legal services for low income residents of Lanark County and the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville, as well as the Townships of North and Central Frontenac in Frontenac County and the Township of Addington Highlands in the County of Lennox & Addington.
Our services are offered at no cost to clients who qualify financially.

- Health and Disability, including mental health and disability rights

- Employment and Work, including Employment Insurance appeals and WSIB claims

The areas of law practised by the Clinic are determined and reviewed annually by the Clinic’s Board of Directors according to the identified needs of each community served.

Types of Services
Representation
We provide lawyers to represent you before government boards and tribunals in the areas of law practised by The Legal Clinic.
Summary Legal Advice
We give free legal advice on the telephone, by appointment or on a walk-in basis in the areas of law listed above. There are no financial eligibility restrictions when asking for summary advice.
Referrals
We don’t practise in all areas of law. If we are unable to help you, we may be able to refer you to someone who can.
We can’t help you with criminal, family, civil, provincial offences, real estate or immigration law. We do not issue legal aid certificates.

Public Legal Education and Publications
At your request we can prepare presentations and workshops for you and/or your group. We also provide pamphlets on a wide range of legal topics.
Community Development
We work together with other community organizations on projects that will provide a benefit to low income people and to advocate for the rights of low-income people.
